BBC 5 Live / Kermode & Mayo's Film Review

It always feels a little surreal entering the BBC television studios to do a day of freelancing. All of the floors can be viewed from a huge central atrium where you can see the news studio and so many busy journalists and production staff creating the day's content. It's pretty awesome to be part of such a huge operation for a day or two. 

YouTube video editing

When covering for the usual editor on the BBC's 5 Live Kermode & Mayo's Film Review show one of the main tasks is to record a live stream from the studio and cut out individual reviews to post to YouTube during the show.

BBC iPlayer page update

Content is also uploaded to the BBC iPlayer platform though its own centralised content management system. I source images and write summaries to accompany the videos to a set BBC house style.

Audio interviews

Often there is a pre-recorded interview that goes out exclusively on the live show. Once it has been aired this is formatted as a video with a holding image to upload to both content channels.
